The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry “Employment & Practice Listings Network” is designed to provide a service to our current students, alumni, and potential employers.

The UAB School of Optometry has a world-class reputation for educating optometrists and vision scientists. Our best known service is the excellent patient care provided in our “UAB Eye Care” clinic that covers everything from primary eye care, including the dispensing of glasses and contacts, to the treatment of ocular disease, as well as low vision rehabilitation and pediatric vision care.

In order for a potential employer to make the most of this site, you will need to provide a profile of information so our graduates and students can gain insight into the opportunity that lies ahead. You may wish, but are not required to post details including salary & benefits, the types of instruments that will be available at your practice, and how many patients your practice sees on a regular basis.

All employment postings will be added to our database free of charge and the information will remain active for 3 months. After 3 months you may either renew the posting if it is still available or delete it. If you take no action, the post will become inactive.

Lastly, UABSO does not release the names of our students/alumni. Individuals interested in the information you provide are expected to make contact with you directly.
